TORY LANEZ FATHER SAYS HIS SON WILL BE RELEASED FROM PRISON SOON

It’s been nearly a year since Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years behind bars for the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, but his father, Sonstar Peterson, says the end of that chapter may come sooner than many expected.

In a recent interview with Power 106 Los Angeles, Peterson made bold claims regarding his son’s status, stating confidently that Tory’s release is coming “much sooner than people think.” While no specific legal update or official date has been given, he hinted at significant progress happening behind the scenes — describing the case as a “hatchet job” and suggesting that there are key figures behind the scenes who are beginning to recognize what he views as a miscarriage of justice.

“There are movements happening in the background,” Peterson said. “And I believe it is much sooner than a lot of people think. He’s coming home.”

Tory Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, was convicted in December 2022 on three felony charges tied to the July 2020 incident where Megan Thee Stallion was shot in the foot following a night out in the Hollywood Hills. The trial was highly publicized and polarizing, dividing fans, artists, and even entire corners of the music industry. In August 2023, Tory was sentenced to 10 years in prison and is currently serving his time in a California facility.

Although Lanez’s legal team filed an appeal shortly after the sentencing, it was denied earlier this year. Since then, his team — and now his father — have doubled down on a new strategy: requesting a gubernatorial pardon from California Governor Gavin Newsom.

While supporters of Lanez have pointed to possible mishandling of the case or overlooked evidence, Megan Thee Stallion’s legal team and supporters have pushed back hard. Megan herself took to social media to call out those who are circulating what she calls false narratives.

“Ain’t no new f**king evidence,” Megan wrote. “Y’all been saying the same sh*t for years.”

Despite the backlash, Sonstar remains firm in his belief that his son is innocent and will soon be vindicated. His public appearances and interviews appear to be part of a broader effort to rally public support, apply pressure, and possibly sway public opinion as they pursue clemency or a reduced sentence.
