Neno Calvin –  New Orleans is a great place but It’s not a place to raise a child.

Tiara – who inspired you the most growing up?

Neno Calvin    – My dad inspired me, everything he had I wanted. I grew up in the projects and my dad grew up in the streets.

Tiara   –  what made you decide to form a group at 12 years old?

Neno Calvin   – The first group was called the “Magnolia Boys” my uncle which is my dad brother use to rap. I was also the youngest in the group and I had a chip on my shoulder. I didn’t really go through anything at the age of 12, but I wanted to rap and I had something to prove.

Tiara –  Tell me about being around Birdman at a young age?

Neno Calvin     – Birdman would come around and hand out turkeys and I would always be at the park waiting on the bus to come early in the morning with my friends, and some other people would be with me and Birdman would let us on the tour bus. He always like the way I made moves.

Tiara – How was it like signing to “Cash Money Records”

Neno Calvin     – Im signed to a label called  “Power & Money Records” but “Cash Money Records” they’re both jointly doing business. I’m just glad Birdman is apart of it and growing up I didn’t think I would make it this far.

Tiara. –  Your single with Birdman Ms. Gladys what was the meaning behind the song?

Neno Calvin    –   I was 19 years old at the time, I was constantly getting in trouble I had went to jail and my dad was incarcerated at the time. I was going down the wrong path and my dad had spoke with Birdman and told him to look out for my son. So Birdman let me live with him for like 6 months, within those 6 months we did an whole album together. The album was supposed to be called ’Mrs Gladys’ and that song was the first track on the album. We were supposed to drop the album but a lot of things happen around that time, and it through everything off.

Tiara – what are your emotions like before you start to record a song in the studio?

Neno Calvin    – The beat of the song, it’s not really about my mood because I can be angry and make a love song or the beat could make me think about a woman or a situation.
