Idris Miles Interviews on Voice It

Tiara – Tell me about growing up in Essex U.K.

Idris Miles – I was born in London, I moved to Essex when I was 12, it was a lot of segregation there, but times did change.

Tiara – Tell me about your new album Miles and the inspiration behind your song Different Space featuring Kayda.

Idris Miles – Kayda is a friend, I met her a year ago. We use to perform for a lot of different open mics. I needed her voice on this song, I’m grateful for her. She is a great upcoming artist people need to look out for Kayda.

Tiara – Who else would you want to collaborate with on a song?

Idris Miles – Drake, D Smoke, Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper. U.K artists, Little Simz, and Che Lingo.

Tiara – What is your creative process like when you’re making music?

Idris Miles – I can listen to a beat and be inspired by it, or I can write something and say we need to build a beat around it, depends on my frame of mind at the time.

Tiara – How has the internet impact your career?

Idris Miles – It’s a gift and a curse especially as an independent artist, it helps you promote your career and market music. Everyone now has the power, and when everyone has the power it’s hard to fight for what’s yours. As long as you stand your ground and stand for what you believe in, and remember to enjoy the process.

Tiara – What keeps you motivated?

Idris Miles – Friends and family are the motivators of my life. When I hear validation from the people that I love, It’s always a great thing. I will make sure to keep giving them the same energy.

Tiara – What else can we expect from you soon?

Idris Miles – I have new video shoots coming up this weekend and remixed songs from the album.
