Even though Meek is from Philadelphia, he now has his own day in the city of Houston. The Mayor of Houston is honoring the work Meek Mill has done with criminal justice reform by giving him “Meek Mill Day” on February 24th. The honorable gesture is a token of appreciation from the city that supports the rapper’s mission to improve the country’s judicial system. Since his release from jail last year, Meek’s high-profile legal battle has inspired the Pennsylvania Senate to make strides to reform their probation system with their newly passed Senate Bill 14. The bill helps those who are suffering by capping the length of probation at five years for felonies and three for misdemeanors.
